Ideal® introduces new No-Hub torque wrenches

ST. AUGUSTINE, FLA. – IDEAL, A Tomkins Company, announces the availability of its new No-Hub Torque Wrenches, which help insure proper torque installation of No-Hub couplings the first time, every time.

Installing no-hub couplings at the specified torque is crucial for securing the seal. Unlike other tools for this job, the durable IDEAL® T-handle wrenches are specially designed to stop tightening when the pre-set torque is reached. Even with continued turning. This prevents potential damage to the coupling and avoids over or under tightening.

To make installation easier, IDEAL’s Torque Wrenches are color-keyed to match the corresponding IDEAL® No-Hub Coupling colors – green, yellow and black. This IDEAL® specific color coding helps the contractor/installer select the correct drive size and torque specification for the coupling. Because the no-hub couplings will have been installed at the recommend torque from the beginning, the contractor can pass the inspection without tightening the clamps again before the inspector shows up. The t-grip handles also help reduce fatigue on the job site.

The new IDEAL® No-Hub Torque Wrenches are available in three sizes: (1) Standard (black) 60 in-lb 5/16” hex drive, (2) Heavy Duty MD (yellow) 80 in-lb 5/16" hex drive, and (3) Heavy Duty HD (green) 80 in-lb 3/8" hex drive.
